| When I had a turbo d16 one of the valves broke and it stuck right in the piston. | |

Before the upgrades, it was at 10 psi. I literally had 10 miles on the motor after upgrading the valvetrain with new valve springs, retainers and cams. I was merging on 75 at about 1/2 throttle when this happened. I keep thinking I made a mistake when I upgraded the valvetrain, but a good friend of mine that does a lot of J Series builds keeps saying that it was just one of those freak things. - fabricator wrote:

Thanks man. Believe it or not, but there are a few Accord sedan's running around making decent power. I know I was the first person to SC a K Series Accord, but there are others making good power. A buddy of mine out in Columbus has the same year sedan as mine and he boosted the stock K24A4 and is making 350 whp / 400 tq. I foolishly drove it once when it was wet out and the tires kept breaking loose in 3rd gear doing freeway pulls. Another buddy of mine from Oregon build a 560 whp boosted Accord sedan that's the scariest car I've ridden in so far. I guess I just know more about these builds because I've been in the 7th Gen Accord community for a long time.

| Really cool. Are you using a shop in Dayton for the machining? If so, which one? | |

I took the block to ERL Performance to get it sleeved and assembled. I took the head to Piqua Automotive to get the valve guides replaced, and will be bringing it back to them after the port work has been done.

| ERL does good stuff. My Sleeves were done by them. Post up pictures once you start assembling the motor again! | |

| I know ERL has a great reputation in the K Series world and a great reputation for customer service. They were cool enough to give me a quick tour of the shop when I brought my block down to them. I was only going to have them sleeve the block, but then realized that it would be better to have them assemble it too.
I'm hoping I can get my friend who's a photographer to come and take pictures of the assembly. As soon as I get the block back, I'm going to clay it before final assembly. Even though CP claims my pistons are 50ยบ VTC safe, I want to be 100% sure. Since the block is going to be decked and the head is going to be milled, I want to make sure that I won't have any clearance issues. The good news is that if I need to gain additional clearance, Cometic makes head gaskets from .030" (stock thickness) up to .051". Hopefully, I won't have to limit the VTC advance.

| Awesome. I have a ton of random k series parts. Let me know if there's anything you may need to help with your build. | |
